How a hidden proposal shoot works
We plan everything by text beforehand: the spot, the time and a secret signal. On the day, Shiva arrives early and stays out of sight, so your partner has no idea until you propose. After the "yes," she joins you for a relaxed engagement session while the light is at its best.
Timing it for sunset
Most beach proposals are timed for golden hour, the soft light just before sunset. Shiva will suggest the right start time for your date so the moment and the portraits that follow both get the best light.
Share the news the same day
You get same-day or next-day sneak peeks so you can tell family and friends straight away, followed by a full private gallery of warm, edited high-resolution photos with download and print rights.
Favourite proposal spots on Anna Maria Island
The island’s Gulf beaches face west, so sunsets are easy to come by. What changes from spot to spot is how private it feels and how simple the day is to plan. These are three good starting points.
Bean Point, Anna Maria (north tip)
The quietest stretch of the island, with far fewer people around, so a surprise stays a surprise. There is no parking lot and street parking nearby is limited and strictly enforced, so plan to arrive early or be dropped off. There are no restrooms close by.
Cortez Beach, Bradenton Beach
Usually calmer than the busiest beaches, with the sun going down right over the water. Free parking runs along Gulf Drive but fills up quickly on weekends, and tickets are given for parking outside the marked spaces.
Coquina Beach, south end of the island
The easiest option on the day: large parking lots, restrooms and a wide beach with room to find a private patch of sand away from the main entrance.
Shiva will suggest the best spot and start time for your date, and plan where she can hide so your partner never sees her.

Florida weather changes quickly. Scheduling is flexible, so if the weather or light does not cooperate, we will move your session to another day.
